It seems to be put together with several shootings on the same sets with different casts, made over time. (The sets are quite good for a cheapo porno, BTW.) Story concerns 3 Allied agents (1 bearded male, 2 females in fatigues) who parachute into North Africa and land in the middle of a desert Nazi installation and are taken prisoner for some S&M and hardcore sex fun and games.

Synopsis:
Brigitte Bardot stars in her penultimate film (she only has a cameo in her last) along with Jane Birkin, the Serge Gainsbourg “Je t’aime” girl. This film is well worth a look, as we can see BB’s and Vadim’s evolution from “And God Created Woman” to this post-sixties over-the-top comedy-drama.
We get some great nude scenes with Brigitte and Jane. BB’s character is someone fed up with men, so she resorts to seduce-and-destroy tactics. As in “God Created Woman” she’s pretty much playing herself, but with an exaggerated storyline of driving men to ruin, murder, and suicide. The campy ironic humor is there in such scenarios as seducing a priest as well as setting up a fake menage-a-trois to madden a bete homme. Also a scene with Robert Walker Jr. (Charlie X in Star Trek TOS) where the price she asks for making love is no less than his life, which he takes seriously. The ending is a multiple meaning one as BB saves a man who makes her “pay for her sins” (though he’s unappreciative). I think the end hits home for Brigitte in real life saying in effect, “look you male-dominated world, you’ve made my life hell”. Worth seeing for it’s erotic quality (what BB film isn’t?), the submarine home, the early ’70s fashions, and the high camp.

So what if Don Juan were a woman? I’m not sure if she would behave something like Brigitte Bardot’s 1973 rendition of the famed lover, but it’s considerably fun to watch her strut her stuff.

In Roger Vadim’s interpretation of the Latin lover, Jeanne (Bardot) eats men for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. She takes a married politician and immediately ruins him by having him photographed at one of her orgies. She uses a hapless folk singer for sex and then leaves, prompting him to slice his wrists and bleed to death while strumming his guitar. She even extends her wiles to corrupting women, luring the innocent wife of a grotesquely self-absorbed businessman into the sack, then turning the tables on both members of the couple.

Vadim imbues his film with a balls-out seventies sensibility, all bell bottoms and shag rugs. Bardot, one of the ultimate vamps of world cinema, is at her unmistakable best here, bored with the world around her yet overflowing with wanton lust. Unfortunately, the film never totally gels — is the point to show us how Jeanne jumps from one encounter to another without any remorse at all? That’s what Vadim gives us — and his ending tries to wrap up her life with a bit of deus ex machina that doesn’t satisfy at all.

Still, Don Juan is a rare shocker that turns the table on age-old expectations about gender and morality. There’s no surprise ending and little mystery along the way — just brash sexuality courtesy of one of cinema’s most notorious vixens.

This is the only film that Miss Keyzerova has ever appeared in, so if you want to witness this heavenly beauty in all her naked splendor, “Dafnis i Khloya” is the one movie that can deliver the goods! There is also a fair amount of male nudity for those who may enjoy it.

The Max Linder Panorama is sold out.[7]

Then many theaters asked to program the film around the country, extending the live happenings around the projections with a choreography of Daft-Peunk Robot (a character of the film) and a workshop where the public can come and try dubbing extracts of the Ultra-Sex.
This is the beginning of a great tour: the Ultra-Sex-Tour.[8] The film quickly becomes a cult-phenomenon, gathering a real fan community all around France. Let’s put it this way, on the one hand the production values leave a little to be desired. Electrical buzz on the soundtrack? Badly mixed, peaking sound? Badly coloured scenes? Weird lighting? The cast is, shall we say, not ‘A List’: Violet Blue, star of both Ass Lovers 1 and Ass Angels 5. Peter Gullerud .. er .. Animation Assistant on ‘The Little Mermaid’.

On the other hand, where else are you going to see a naked woman in a martial arts fight with a 3000 year old dancing mummy?

We all know exactly what this film is. Let’s enjoy it in the spirit it was intended.

Synopsis:

Caleb, “son of nobody” (Enrico Montesano) lives in Galilee in Jesus’ day and struggles as a thief and con-man, pretending to be a magician. When he witnesses Jesus turning water into wine, he thinks he’s found a competitor. So Caleb goes on, convinced that Jesus is a fake just as he is, always trying to figure out his tricks. In the meantime, he gets involved with a prostitute (played by Edwige Fenech), but also with the wife of a Roman patrician (played by the equally alluring Bernadette Lafont), he steals a few goats and cons a few people, he befriends a lovable dog and gets in trouble with some Roman soldiers. In the end, he is convicted for theft and crucified, ending up on Jesus’ right. Manages to steal a necklace and then lose it and find Deborah with whom he shared his life. Always fascinated by the figure of Christ, continue to believe that a magician cleverer than him, will end on the cross with him an old man accused of theft. So, it’s kinda like “Life of Brian”, only with italians.

Review:

This deliciously subversive Biblical comedy, despite thematically being pretty close to The Life of Brian, is in no way Pythonesque in it’s execution and would probably be better compared to the Dudley Moore vehicle Wholly Moses! from the same year.

There are plenty of funny, sweet and the occasional tearjerking moments in a film that Pasquale Festa Campanile directs and is based on his own novel. The lead characters played by Enrico Montesano and Edwige Fenech work really well together and their romantic interaction is most endearing. Claudio Cassinelli is great as Jesus and manages to successully give off a suitably pious air.

The perky and quirky comedy-friendly soundtrack is provided by Ennio Morricone and the Tunisian locations are well captured as they fill in for the Holy Land. While not especially family friendly viewing, and possibly a wee bit offensive to overly sensitive devout types, the film is nevertheless delightful lazy afternoon type entertainment for grown ups.

Shine Louise Houston is an exceptional director.

Granted, as pornography goes, the Crash Pad has no storyline or overarching structure. The room is a literal container for disconnected sexual set-pieces which are presented, one after another, in modular fashion. (The keys to the Crash Pad, which are supposedly passed along, imply a kind of round-robin communitarianism that fits with the queer ethos that permeates the work. But like everything else it’s just an implied idea, nothing strictly enforced.)

But the striking, truly revelatory aspect of Crash Pad, and Houston’s directorial style, is in the framing and composition. It may seem silly or obvious, but until watching Crash Pad, I never recognized the extent to which most pornographers find vaginas visually unappetizing, as though they really were the “absence” posited by psychoanalytic theory.

Shine Louise Houston makes porn that displays a visual love, an aesthetic and erotic adoration for women’s bodies, vaginas in particular, and it is both exciting as art and hot as fuck as porn. She will frame a pussy, thigh, and the curvature of an ass, for example, with a tightness and flair that you don’t recognize at first. But as the shot persists, you notice just how sloppy and inattentive most porn really is. Houston’s shots have a quality positioned somewhere betweeen classical beauty and modernist abstraction, like the rounded flesh of Niki de Saint-Phalle or the pure curvature of line one finds in Henry Moore.

I recall a threesome in Crash Pad that culminated with a long shot at the women, down the length of the bed, with the middle woman’s pelvis symmetrically framed by two black dildos, each leaning at opposing 45-degree angles. These sorts of things don’t just happen. Houston understands that part of the fun of sex (and perhaps queer sex in particular) is not far removed from the pleasure of art — the being present with beauty and passion, the sense of losing oneself in another.

Put another way, Crash Pad understands that the camera has a role in porn, and that role can manifest in different ways. It can be an objective recorder, a distant gaze . . . or it can be a tactile participant. The latter makes for better, sexier, less exploitative porn. Houston is a major talent making work we need.
